Entresto (sacubitril/valsartan) is a medication used primarily to treat chronic heart failure in adults. It works by blocking angiotensin II receptors (valsartan) leading to vasodilation, reduced sodium and water retention, and improved heart function.

Although Entresto has a blood pressure-lowering effect, its main indication is not the treatment of primary hypertension. However, it may be prescribed for patients with heart failure who also have hypertension.
