It is believed that the action of mephedrone is to inhibit reuptake and increase the concentration of neurotransmitters such as norepinephrine, dopamine and serotonin.
Brintelix belongs to the group of antidepressants, vortioxetine (the active ingredient in Brintellix) modulates the serotonergic system causing an increase in serotonin levels. To a lesser extent, it affects neurotransmitters such as norepinephrine, dopamine, histamine, GABA. The simultaneous use of preparations that affect serotonin levels increases the risk of adverse effects, e.g. excessive agitation, hallucinations, cardiac arrhythmias, coordination disorders, nausea or hyperthermia. Therefore, the use of Brintellix with other substances affecting the serotonergic system should be done under medical supervision, and any alarming symptoms should be reported to a specialist.
