How much does a child weigh? The general recommendation for the use of hydroxyzine in children is as follows: from 12 months to 6 years: 1 mg/kg body weight per day to 2.5 mg/kg body weight per day in divided doses. For example, for a child weighing 15 kg, the maximum daily dose would be 15 mg. If the syrup contains 2 mg/ml, then when giving the child 5 ml a day, the dose will be 10 mg, which would be an appropriate dose for the assumed weight of 15 kg.
