Anafranil is a drug used in the treatment of depressive states of various etiology and symptomatology, e.g. endogenous, reactive, neurotic, organic, masked and involutional forms of depression, depression associated with schizophrenia and personality disorders, depression associated with old age, in the course of chronic pain and chronic somatic diseases, in obsessive-compulsive disorder, phobias and anxiety attacks.
Anafranil should not be used in patients taking MAO inhibitors, hypersensitive to benzodiazepine tricyclic antidepressants, in patients immediately after myocardial infarction and in patients with congenital long QT syndrome.
