Silymarin is a complex of flavonoids found naturally in milk thistle, showing hepatoprotective properties. Silymarol, on the other hand, is the trade name for a drug whose main active ingredient is silymarin. Both terms refer to the same substance, but Silimarol is a specific pharmaceutical preparation available in different dosages.
The mechanism of action includes protection of hepatocytes from damage, stimulation of liver cell regeneration, and antioxidant activity. It is worth noting that despite the similar composition, different preparations containing silymarin may have slightly different recommended dosages. Always follow the manufacturer's or doctor's recommendations for a specific preparation.
