Good morning
I would like to ask when it is best to take a pregnancy test if the intercourse took place the day before menstruation (it occurred) and if it is difficult to determine when the first day of the period will occur due to its irregularity. How long should I wait if the intercourse took place on June 5? After how many weeks can you also go to the gynaecologist to check if the test was definitely not wrong?
Thank you in advance for your answer

Very sensitive pregnancy tests can be done a few days after intercourse, preferably in the morning ("using" the first urine after the night). On the day of your expected period, each test should show a reliable result. Blood tests can also be performed to analyze the concentration of beta-HCG, which is a good diagnostic criterion to confirm or exclude pregnancy. Analyzing your description, I don't think there is a real chance for fertilization. A few days before menstruation (usually considered to be about 10 days) is the infertile period for a woman and there is no possibility of getting pregnant. You can see a gynaecologist on the date of your expected menstruation or a few days later if your period does not appear. It is worth doing tests to assess the cause of irregular cycles.
In case of any doubts, I encourage you to use the teleconsultation with a gynaecologist - the service is available on our website in the e-visit tab:
