Can I use Prolia if I have systemic lupus and have been taking Metypred for many years?

Hello, I have a doctor ordered to administer prolia, after discontinuing tabl. Osagrand first dose because of a number of side effects, the problem is that for 10 years I have systemic lupus for which I have been taking metypred for 8 years, for a year I have not been taking it anymore. I'm afraid that I will have side effects, thank you for the answer

According to the manufacturer, one of the indications for the use of Prolia is "Treatment of bone loss associated with long-term systemic glucocorticoid treatment of adult patients at increased risk of fractures." - therefore the drug is indicated for use in your case.

However, lupus is not reported as a contraindication to Prolia.

It is certainly worth noting that in your case there is an increased risk of hypocalcemia - calcium deficiency. It is worth doing regular check-ups.
