Should Hitaxa be used 2x a day for a 12-year-old?
My 12-year-old son is prescribed Hitaxa 5 mg. The doctor ordered to administer 1 tablet 2 times, and the leaflet says to administer once a day. Is he overdosing?

Hitaxa is an antihistamine used to treat allergy symptoms such as hay fever (allergic rhinitis) and hives (itching and rash). Its main ingredient is desloratadine.
The dosage in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age should be 5 mg once a day (1 tablet). In my opinion, it is not necessary to use the drug 2 times a day.
