If you drink iodine, it is possible that you may experience a burning sensation in the throat and drooling. Nausea, vomiting, headache and upper abdominal pain may also occur. In severe cases of iodine overdose, collapse and hemorrhagic nephritis, loss of consciousness or convulsions may occur. Drinking iodine can also lead to thyroid disorders.
