It is not recommended to use the sauna while taking Axotret (isotretinoin).
It is a drug used to treat severe forms of acne and other skin conditions. Isotretinoin belongs to a group of medicines called retinoids, which can cause side effects such as increased sensitivity to sunlight and UV radiation, as well as dry skin, redness or itching.
Therefore, during treatment with this drug, it is recommended to avoid exposure to high temperatures, and therefore also the use of the sauna. The high temperatures in the sauna can exacerbate these side effects and cause skin irritation. In addition, sweating in the sauna can lead to dehydration, which is unfavorable when taking Axotret. These recommendations should be followed to avoid increased side effects and to ensure safe treatment.
