Symkinet was released to me as a replacement for Medikinet, but its operation is different. First of all, it works shorter and weaker. Secondly, I experience side effects: dizziness, nausea, irritability and a lot of sensory overload. I didn't have such problems with Medikinet

Both medicines are available in the same dosages, they are modified-release capsules, for the same indication and contain the same substance (methylphenidate hydrochloride).
In addition, both drugs, Medikinet CR and Symkinet MR, are generic counterparts of the original Ritalin LA.
Thus, from a legal point of view, a pharmacist can make such a substitution at the pharmacy level.
It is possible that although the generic (Medikinet or Symkinet) will be bioequivalent, i.e. not significantly different in terms of rate and degree of absorption with the original drug (Ritalin), the two different generics will not be bioequivalent with each other.
Doubts may also be raised by the pharmacokinetics of both drugs, which are described differently – in detail in the case of Medikinet CR, and perfunctorily in the case of Symkinet MR. These may be slight differences, which in the case of your body manifest themselves in the form of the aforementioned side effects.
Unfortunately, the availability of Medikinet is limited, which is probably why the pharmacist is proposing to replace it with a more accessible drug.
In the face of such a situation, I encourage you to contact your doctor.

I have the same experience as described above.
The side effects (irritation and distortion of vision) are so annoying that I stopped taking Symkinet.
