Cough suppressants should not be combined. Actifed can be used in children over 6 years of age - unless otherwise advised by a doctor and modified the dosage to be suitable for a younger child (in which case a second drug may be considered, but not earlier than after about 2 hours). Given the description, it is advisable to consult a pediatrician. It is a good idea to ventilate the room where the child is staying and ensure adequate air humidification (dry air is often a factor that additionally supports the cough reflex).
