If I am at risk of a blood clot while taking the combined pills, will it disappear if I switch to single-ingredient tablets?

The risk of thromboembolic complications is lower with the single-component contraceptive pill compared to the combination pill. Risk factors for blood clots with oral hormonal contraception are detailed in the leaflet, but the history should be taken by the gynaecologist and evaluated all the information obtained. On this basis, he should choose the right preparation for the woman.
For some patients, the use of oral hormones is not recommended at all - for example, if you have blood clots in blood vessels such as your legs (deep vein thrombosis) or lungs (pulmonary embolism), you must not take any contraceptive pills.
Changing the type of preparation will not make the clot disappear - the presence of a clot in the blood vessels requires urgent medical intervention and special treatment.
