Is doxazosin drug safe?

Hello. I've been taking amlodipine 10mg for a couple of years, after the surgery to remove the thyroid gland I started to swell. Mainly legs, ankles, calves. The cardiologist told me to replace amlodipine with doxazosin. Is it a good drug? I've heard that it has a lot of side effects.

To @Ania:

The clarity of the test line will vary depending on the concentration of beta-hCG hormone in the urine. If the test was not performed from the morning urine, it will be most reliable to repeat it tomorrow.

We wrote about which pregnancy test to choose and when to do it in the article:

I'm attaching an additional opinion on a similar topic:

I did a 10 ml pregnancy test, 18 days after intercourse, but not with morning urine. Should the line be clearly visible by now? I didn't think I was seeing anything against the sun, but I'm not sure if it's a delusion... Would the line already be thick?

Any medication you use can cause side effects. The risk of side effects increases with increasing dose and duration of therapy. The decision to select the most appropriate drug for a given patient is made by the doctor on the basis of, for example, his or her medical history and tolerance of the treatment recommended so far.

Common side effects of doxazosin medicines include, m.in: respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, vertigo, palpitations, tachycardia, hypotension, orthostatic hypotension, bronchitis, cough, dyspnoea, rhinitis, abdominal pain, dyspepsia, dry mouth, nausea, itching, back pain, muscle pain, cystitis, urinary incontinence, weakness, chest pain chest, flu-like symptoms, peripheral edema.

We wrote about whether to be afraid of side effects in the article:

If you have any doubts about the recommended treatment, I encourage you to consult your doctor again. You can also take advantage of a teleconsultation via e.g. the Gdziepolek.pl portal:
