Hello, the ophthalmologist prescribed erythromycin ointment for chalazion, but I don't know if I should give it to the eye or lubricate the chalazion itself, in the leaflet it does not write anything about the use in children, son 3 years old

In the case of treatment of chalazion, i.e. a cyst of the meibomian gland, unless otherwise recommended by a doctor, erythromycin ointment is applied topically, to the diseased fragment of the eyelid margin.
In the literature, I do not find any information on contraindications to the use of erythromycin eye ointment in children.
