No, Rutinoscorbin is not carcinogenic. Like any drug, it is tested for safety and efficacy.
If you wanted to ask about E171 (titanium dioxide), which contains Rutinoscorbin, it is provisionally approved in medicinal products by the EMA's decision (until suitable alternatives are developed).
On the other hand, the European Commission has introduced a ban on the use of titanium dioxide in food (where much higher amounts are used than in medicines), and food that has been produced in accordance with the regulations in force before 7 February 2022 can remain on the market until the end of its minimum durability date or use-by date.
Gasetroenetrologists from France and Luxembourg found that the E171 dye has a carcinogenic effect and increases the risk of precancerous growths of the digestive system by as much as 40 percent. Sulphur dioxide accelerates this process.
It has previously been proven that it penetrates cell membranes and damages DNA structures. In addition, experts from the University of Turin have noticed that titanium oxide leads to the degradation of nerve cells. Long-term use can disrupt the proper functioning of the brain.
Researchers from the University of Turin have announced that they have detected a relationship between titanium dioxide and the effects of UV radiation m.in .
What's more, inhalation of titanium oxide vapors, which have been considered a carcinogenic factor, can have a negative impact on health. The substance is an ingredient of many paints.
Studies indicate that it may be linked to the onset of type 2 diabetes
Scientists from the University of Texas at Austin have published the results of a study on titanium dioxide. The tests involved taking pancreatic tissue from 11 people. As many as 8 of them were found to contain titanium dioxide in the samples. It turned out that these patients suffer from type 2 diabetes.
Research conducted by the French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA) has shown that titanium dioxide can cause changes leading to colorectal cancer
