I was given duphaston to take after ovulation in case fertilization occurred to sustain the pregnancy. Just forgot to ask if the test comes out negative and I stop taking the drug, menstruation will really be delayed by 2 weeks as it is written on the internet?

To @Didi74:
If menstruation still does not occur, I encourage you to consult your doctor again. You can also take advantage of teleconsultation, e.g. via the Gdziepolek.pl portal:
https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja/z-ginekologiem
When the doctor deems it justified, he will refer you for further tests to determine the causes of bleeding problems.
I encourage you to read our article about fertility support:
Hello, sorry, I'm not going to answer a question. But asked a question because I'm enormously lost, I don't know where to turn.
Here I was removing my implant in March 2024, I had no period so at the end of May I decided to consult a new gynecologist who prescribed Duphaston for 3 months, my period came very quickly after. However I am on my 1st month without duphaston because the 3 months usually ended I have my period with duphaston around 9-10. It's September 22, 2024 and my period is still not there, I took 3 tests which were white as snow (negative). Being trying to baby, it's complicated to have so many problems with your periods. What must I do? Is it normal to have nothing? I sincerely hope to have a feedback from someone who would guide me and especially reassure me because I am quite stressed.
Thank you and have a good day

For aml @Lema:
Delaying menstruation can be one of the side effects of taking Duphaston. This drug, which is a synthetic form of progesterone, affects the menstrual cycle and can cause menstrual disorders, including delayed or absent menstruation.
However, it should be remembered that delayed menstruation can also have other causes, such as stress, weight changes, hormonal disorders or pregnancy. Therefore, if menstruation is delayed for more than 14 days, it is recommended to take a pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy.
If the pregnancy test is negative and the delay in menstruation persists, you should consult your gynecologist. If you have doubts about this situation, it is always worth consulting a doctor who can provide more personalized advice. If you are not able to make a face-to-face visit, I attach a link to the online teleconsultation:

Hello I took duphaston from the 16th day of the cycle to the 25th day, and I take it often since I have a cyst on the left ovary, but this time for the first time I have a delay of 14 days for the moment and still it's the absence of my period. Is this one of the side effects of duphaston?
Thank you

If the pregnancy test is negative, it means that fertilization has not occurred. In this case, discontinuation of Duphastonu should not result in pregnancy-related delay of menstruation. The delay of menstruation after discontinuation of Duphastonu may be related to the regulation of the body's hormonal cycle, but it does not necessarily have to be exactly 2 weeks. According to the summary of product characteristics, menstruation should appear within two weeks after taking the last tablet.
