Can diarrhea, abdominal pain, bloating, etc. occur with irritable bowel taking Debutir and Sanprobi IBS?

Can diarrhoea, abdominal pain, bloating, etc. occur with irritable bowel taking DEBUTIR and SANPROBI? There are no side effects in the leaflets, and I have been feeling worse for several days than before taking the capsules. My irritable bowel is rather benign, I have more nausea and irregular bowel movements, but since I take these two drugs I feel worse. Should I stop using it and contact my doctor?

What is in the capsule can also be harmful. It is best to choose butyrate in a sachet, Intesta Max has the most sodium butyrate of all preparations on the market, and is clinically tested, also in people with SIBO. :) I am a dietician and I use it successfully with my patients.

Yes, diarrhea, abdominal pain, bloating, etc. in the course of IBS mean exacerbation of the disease. The severity of IBS symptoms can be caused by various factors, including stress, dietary errors, etc. It is difficult to clearly assess on the basis of such a short description. According to scientific research, the use of 300 mg of butyric acid (Debutir) per day helped to significantly reduce the frequency of spontaneous abdominal pain after 4 weeks, and after 12 weeks – to reduce the frequency of spontaneous abdominal pain, abdominal pain during defecation and urge to stool after defecation. The same is true for Sanprobi IBS. Therefore, you can expect the first effects of therapy after 4 weeks. So I encourage you to change your eating habits, preferably under the supervision of a dietitian. MZ also recommends the low FODMAP diet as a diet indicated in intestinal ailments. It consists in temporarily limiting the consumed products by eliminating from the diet those that have a high level of FODMAPs (fermenting oligo- and monosaccharides and polyols): https://pacjent.gov.pl/diety/low-fodmap-dieta-w-jelicie-nadwrazliwym The gdziepolek.pl service also allows you to obtain a teleconsultation with the appropriate specialist: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja/z-dietetykiem I enclose a link to a page where you can compare the prices of these preparations in online pharmacies and place an order with home delivery or collection at the nearest stationary pharmacy: Debutir: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/21430/debutir-kapsulki/apteki Sanprobi IBS: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/69126/sanprobi-ibs-kapsulki/apteki
