In the case of mirtazapine, due to the linear pharmacokinetics of the drug, both forms have the same duration of action. The form that disintegrates in the mouth does not require drinking water. In both cases, after oral administration, mirtazapine is well and rapidly absorbed (bioavailability ≈ 50%), reaching maximum plasma concentrations after approximately 2 hours. Food intake does not affect the pharmacokinetics of mirtazapine.
