Hello, I have a question, you see I take Methadone at a dose of 30 ml and Promazine at a dose of 100 mg and Pregabaline at a dose of 300 mg / day, can these drugs cause any interactions with methadone? Thanks

I know this is a couple years old but yes both Pregabalin (aka Lyrica) & Promazine can react with Methadone by increasing sedation although I don’t think that it’ll be as much of an issue with the Pregabalin as I’m prescribed it myself as well as Methadone and take those 2 every single day and have no issues with them (I also take 450 milligrams of Pregabalin in the form of 2 225 milligram capsules twice a day and I take 60 milligrams of Methadone each day as well).
Now as for the Promazine… that might be a bit tougher because I read that it’s chlorinated analogue Chlorpromazine (aka Thorazine) can both increase the risks of experiencing cardiac arrhythmias (although this is only something you’ll have to worry about with high doses of Methadone & Promazine together) and it can also elevate the blood levels of Methadone making the Methadone hit you WAAAAAAAY harder because it’s basically inhibiting the enzymes the metabolize and breakdown the Methadone just like when you combine Methadone with Cimetidine (aka Tagamet) but the Promazine itself also has its own sedative effects that will potentiate the sedating effects of Methadone as well so I’d definitely exercise a similar amount of caution that you would if you were to mix Chlorpromazine with Methadone.
How much Methadone do you take everyday? Is it 30 milligrams or not? Because most brands of Methadone syrup (at least here in the USA anyways and can’t say about Polish brands of Methadone syrup or pills… 😅) typically contain 10 milligrams of Methadone per milliliter so yeah I need to know if you’re taking 30 milligrams of Methadone or 300 milligrams (because by my math 30 milliliters would be 300 milligrams haha) if you’re on the later high dose of Methadone I’d potentially avoid mixing the Promazine with the Methadone, you’d likely be much better off substituting the Promazine with Promethazine if you can… ;) Now if you’re taking the low 30 milligram dose of Methadone I think you’d likely be able to get away with taking 25 milligrams of Promazine with 30 milligrams of Methadone. But 100 milligrams of Promazine might be a bit much… I’d start with low doses of Promazine if you’re dead set on doing that combination, out of curiosity are you using that combination because you’re prescribed all those meds? Or is this more of a recreational thing such as adding a bunch of opioid potentiators (Pregabalin & it’s little brother Gabapentin are pretty well know opioid potentiators along with various muscle relaxers, & various 1st generation antihistamines with Promazine being one of them) to increase the sedative effects and catch a nod from the Methadone? Either way I’m not judging you if it’s recreational since I don’t think there’s anything wrong with recreational drug use personally, I’m just curious as to your reasons for you wanting to take this drug combination…
Hopefully you’re still alive despite this being a 2 year old post and didn’t just decide to take it and see what happens after not getting answers on this post for the past 2 years.
No problem. Only you will be sleepy and not little.. And let's not say anything about driving... metadone not really, but with Talofen it's a bomb. better after 7 months???

There are some interactions between the drugs included in the question. These drugs should be used very carefully under close medical supervision. During the simultaneous use of these drugs, you may experience excessive drowsiness, dizziness, difficulty concentrating and properly assessing the situation, as well as with making the intended movements. The risk of excessive drop in blood pressure also increases, and constipation may increase. There is also a risk of breathing disorders. If medicines have been prescribed by different doctors, a consultation is needed to determine whether these medicines can be used at the same time and, if so, whether there is a need to change the recommendations on how to give them. If the medication was prescribed by the same doctor, please follow the dosage regimen. If these reactions worsen or experience other worrying symptoms - please contact your doctor.
