In general, most prescriptions for medicines in Poland are valid for a period of 30 days from the date of issue. This means that the patient should fill the prescription and pick up the medicine at the pharmacy within 30 days of the doctor issuing it. If the doctor has prescribed a larger number of packages on the prescription and specified the expiry date for one year (i.e. the prescription issued in May 2023 and valid until May 2024), it can be purchased in installments, provided that the first package is purchased within the first 30 days.
