Does Brintellix work on anxiety?

Hello, does Brintellix work for anxiety? According to the leaflet, it works only for depression, and the doctor recommended me this drug for anxiety and I wonder if it is prescribed for off-label anxiety. Best regards

To @Karolina:

Although Brintellix is not directly indicated for the treatment of brain injuries, it can be used in cases of depression that may occur after such an injury, especially if the patient is experiencing depressive or anxiety symptoms resulting from cerebral hypoxia.

If you have doubts about this situation, it is always worth consulting a doctor who can provide more personalized advice. If you are not able to take advantage of the advice, I attach a link to the online teleconsultation:

Is this medication used for brain injuries? The leaflet shows that it is an antidepressant, and the doctor prescribed it to my husband after cerebral hypoxia.

Brintellix (vortioxetine) does have an antidepressant, anti-anxiety effect, I write as a patient. However, you need to control what side effects it has, those affecting the work of the brain. I seriously warn against taking this particular drug for too long. After three or four months of use, it is hard to build sentences, you are not yourself, artificial, at the same time with regained greater boldness it is very easy to make some gaffes in the company. Especially after going down, for example, from 10 to 5. After weaning the trha, I return. At the same time, there is little depression, but there is emotional instability - contrasts in opinions, as if every now and then during the day this drug "mixes" in the head. This is a dangerous phenomenon. translator Brintellix (vortioxetine) does have an antidepressant and anti-anxiety effect, I am writing as a patient. Yes, of course you are right. However, this does not change the meaning of the answer. Vortioxetine has an anxiolytic effect.

The active substance in Brintellix is vortioxetine, not tianeptine.

Yes, the active substance in Brintellix (Tianeptine) is a modulator and stimulator of serotonin transmission. In addition to the antidepressant effect, this ingredient also has an anxiolytic effect.
