Good morning. The daughter of 9 years (25kg) has allergies and the doctor prescribed her Clatre 10mg 1xdz. Unfortunately, now the symptoms are starting to intensify and the doctor recommended in such a situation to give clatre 2xdz in the morning and evening. Won't it hurt my child?

According to the Safety Data Sheet, Clatra should be given at a dose of 10 mg (1 orodispersible tablet) once a day in children aged 6 to 11 years and weighing at least 20 kg. However, the doctor may, on his own responsibility, prescribe the drug differently than it is generally accepted. We wrote about it here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/leczenie-off-label-poza-wskazaniami With exacerbation of the symptoms of an allergic disease, the doses of an antihistamine are often increased (in the treatment of chronic urticaria, doses 4 times higher than recommended by the standard are used), it is also permissible to take antihistamines with a different chemical structure. However, long-term intake of an increased dose of Clatra increases the risk of side effects.
