Peak expiratory flow (PEF) is one of the key indicators of lung function. Thanks to its values, it is possible to determine the occurrence of airflow restriction through the respiratory system, which is important for monitoring the course of lung diseases. Peak expiratory flow is measured using peak flow meters – small, portable and easy-to-use devices.
