Proper foot care includes a number of activities, such as cutting nails correctly, wearing comfortable shoes, daily washing, as well as using preparations tailored to the needs of the skin. Due to the fact that the skin on the feet can be up to twice as thick as that found in other areas of the body, it is more likely to dry out, crack and keratinise. There are preparations dedicated to foot care available on the market, which come in the form of creams, ointments, gels, masks, scrubs, bath salts and aerosols. They contain active substances with various properties - those that can be used in everyday care (e.g. moisturizing and softening) and those that are recommended for use once in a while (e.g. strong exfoliating).
